4K
We offer a four full-day program running Monday - Thursday from 7:50 AM -3:00 PM
4K (Four-Year-Old Kindergarten) is a developmental, play-based early learning program designed for our youngest learners. It focuses on building the social, emotional, early academic, and independence skills children need to feel confident and successful in school.
4K is not “mini kindergarten”—it is a year built around curiosity, hands-on exploration, and joyful learning.
Play is at the heart of 4K! Through purposeful play, children learn how to:
- Solve problems
- Work with friends
- Build language and communication skills
- Develop early literacy and math concepts
- Strengthen fine and gross motor skills
- Grow independence and confidence
Our classroom centers (blocks, dramatic play, sensory, art, writing, math, science, and more) allow children to explore, create, and practice new skills every single day.
Play is where the learning happens.

Come join us for some fun 4K Play Dates! This program is offered to all children 3-4 years old, who are not currently enrolled. Children can explore the classroom, make new friends, and get familiar with the school through playful activities. Families are welcome to connect and enjoy this time together. We look forward to seeing you!
Offered in the last week of August is “4K Here I Come.” This summer school program is a great chance to gain confidence and familiarity before the year officially begins. Look out for more information to come!

A 4K Registration night will be held in January each year. Families can visit school and register on this night. Please contact the school office more information on the registration process.

Before 4K there are many options in the Wrightstown Community for your child to develop skills they will need in 4K.
- Library hours and classes
- Community 3K programs
- Structured environments such as group classes, organized sports, etc.
Wrightstown Elementary School has a fantastic 4K program that offers learning opportunities through play and instruction in math, literacy, and writing. The program is not intended to be repeated for students that are younger in age. If your child has a late summer birthdate it might be beneficial to evaluate their readiness.

Did you know that Wrightstown Community School District holds several Child Development Screenings each year?
What are Child Development Days?
Child Development Days are developmental screenings offered by our school district for children ages 2 years, 9 months through 4 years old. These screenings help families learn how their child is growing and support children as they get ready for school.
Who should attend?
Any child between the ages 2 years, 9 months through 4 years old that lives in the Wrightstown Community School District that you have any questions or concerns about your child’s development.
What happens during the screening?
During the visit, school staff spend time with your child to check key areas of early development, including:
- Speech and language
- Thinking and problem-solving skills
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Social and emotional development
- Early learning skills
You will also have a chance to talk with staff about your child’s strengths, milestones, routines, and any concerns you may have.
Why are screenings important?
Screenings give families helpful information about how their child is developing and helps identify any areas where they may need extra support.
If you have concerns about your child’s development or to schedule an appointment for Child Development Days, please contact Elli Masters at 920-532-4818 ext. 2106 or email her at using this form.

Attendance Matters!
Regular attendance in 4K helps children build strong learning habits, develop social skills, and feel confident in the classroom. Each day offers meaningful activities that support growth and kindergarten readiness.
Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school and themselves. We appreciate your efforts to ensure your child is attending school and thank you for helping make every day count!

4K teachers will communicate with families through ParentSquare. Families will receive a monthly calendar along with weekly newsletters. Teachers will also send messages and pictures through ParentSquare. Visit the district's Technology page for more information about ParentSquare.
Parent Teacher conferences are held in November and February each year. -
WES provides both breakfast and lunch options for students. Breakfast is served from 7:30-7:50 during arrival. Students will have a 30 minute lunch period in the cafeteria each day where they can choose either a hot lunch option or bring their own cold lunch from home. Families can determine which days their child will take hot or cold lunch based on the school lunch menu.
For more information about school lunches and transportation, please view the corresponding district pages for each department.
